This old expression means packing up his things,

To pack my bags .... :: Østfoldmuseene
This old expression means packing up his things, "give knueppel up" - and "drag its coziness". "Kos" is related to the course, Latin cursus, meaning race, road, direction.
Here we see the image of a collar box with løssnipper and some loops. This is what a man did for about a hundred years ago to be "dressed"! He put on his shirt and collar before he went out. This is a fine outfit and was probably not used for manual labor.
These collars and bows have been sold at LP Sterud Moss, and they are marked on the inside "guaranteed five double". Sterud was a well-stocked with its own tailor shop coat - and dress shop. Snippets from the early 1900s. Snip user who owned this collar box, lived far off the beaten track in Hobøl. He was a farmer and forest owner and a very wealthy knueppel man. And he followed the fashion.
