Letters to My Daughter, a work of poetry and prose pieces toilet paper roll unequivocally demonstrates through the author's use of alliteration, imagery, metaphors, repetition, and synecdoche, her pride in her Puerto toilet paper roll Rican culture, her love and veneration for her ancestors, and her ardent desire to instill (as an inherent responsibility) the same pride in the next generation. She also unabashedly exposes the nefariousness of domestic violence.
Through her marvelous motifs of a vessel, she manifests her gratitude for being chosen to carry and deliver her daughter into this world. Motherhood is the ideal role for the author - her daughter is of utmost significance.
Nancy Ruffin's pieces are replete with vivid images that reflect her love for her nieces, her grandmother, and all girls. Love for one's self, including one's hair texture, is addressed against the distorted view that some have of what ideal beauty is. Pride is one's ancestry and the sacred responsibility to instill pride in the new generation is disclosed through many of the pieces in this wonderful collection. -Zacarias Rivera, NYC Department of Education Teacher toilet paper roll What readers are saying about Letters to My Daughter
I felt as if the author took a journey through my thoughts and childhood experiences and took notes. Not only did she catapult me into my own past, but she also captured the words, that as a father of three daughters, I would wholeheartedly express to them. - Efrain Ortiz Jr. What readers are saying about Letters to My Daughter
Nancy Ruffin's "Letters to My Daughter" is a testimony to one's identity. Her words bring forth a myriad of emotions. From hair to heartbreak, from music to muses. She covers nostalgia like no body's business. Idioms and anecdotes peppered with ancestral wisdom.
I felt an enormous sense of pride in who I am as a Latina, woman, mother, and daughter. Even if you are not any of the aforementioned, this book is a peek into a woman's soul. Read and learn. Then pass it on. - Maria Rodriguez, Author, Brooklyn's Daughter Follow me on IG: @msnancyruffin

One of only a plethora of remakes that are in the works is A Nightmare on Elm Street , a remake of the classic ’80s horror movie of the same name. The project styrofoam ice chest was just announced at the beginning styrofoam ice chest of the year, but things are certainly getting going – a few weeks ago Watchmen star Jackie styrofoam ice chest Earle Haley was announced to be the new Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund, you will be missed…), Kyle Gallner (seen most recently styrofoam ice chest in another remake The Haunting in Connecticut ) also confirmed, and last week Thomas Dekker was reportedly in final negotiations .
Apart from the iconic role of Freddy styrofoam ice chest Krueger, the other big question mark hovering over this remake is who will play the lead female role who (as in the original film) is scared out of her dreaming mind like the rest of the kids on Elm Street, but ultimately fights back (a type of character almost essential for any horror/slasher movie). styrofoam ice chest Well thanks styrofoam ice chest to BloodyDisgusting we have our answer: Rooney Mara is in final negotiations to play the female lead of the film.
Although it’s not been explicitly stated who Mara (a relatively new actress) would be playing, effectively she will be this version of Elm Street’s Nancy Thompson (played in the original by Heather styrofoam ice chest Langenkamp). As I said above, this leading styrofoam ice chest lady heroine type of character is not only obligatory in the sense that “almost every horror movie has one,” but also almost essential . It gives us someone innocent to whom we can attach ourselves and ultimately root for when the bad guy is hunting them down, trying everything they can to get their kill.
As for Mara herself, it’s definitely a good idea to get someone who is not really famous to play the role. If they had stuck someone like Keira Knightley or Cameron Diaz in there, with the status they have as not just actresses but celebrities through and through, it would have been a lot harder to see the character instead of the real life celebrity.
Choosing someone like Mara, who’s been in little more than a couple of episodes of ER and a little indie comedy from last year called Dream Boy , allows us to invest and believe her performance as the character and not just see the celebrity. I can’t say she’ll do a good job as, admittedly, I haven’t styrofoam ice chest seen her in anything before, but what I will say is she ain’t exactly sore on the eyes!
Yeah, I think that she’ll be good for the role, BUT she’s gotta remember styrofoam ice chest to keep her artistic integrity styrofoam ice chest and not rely on being like the old Nancy. They’ll just need to find some chemistry between the roles of Nancy and Freddy to make it scarier or AS scary as the original. I think that the FREDDY role is the bigger step here though, this new guy is gonna have to REALLY step it up, but definitely add a new twist, or some backstory…It all matters on HOW it’s written though. The story in THIS franchise is essential. They got a real successful franchise styrofoam ice chest here, they HAVE to make it work.

Biggest Indulgence: We splurge on cookware. I love to cook and Ethan loves to eat! Le Crueset and I

Nancy and Ethan's creative foam 1903 cabin features a wrap around porch and is situated on 80 acres. They rent the home from a friend whose family has owned the property creative foam since 1846. Because the home is so special and the grounds creative foam are magical, they don't have any plans on moving anytime soon. They plan on renting indefinitely until they can build their own home from reclaimed materials.
Looking at the home Nancy and Ethan created, it reminds me of all the elements that make a house a home - everything in their home is special and has a personal meaning. Can I move in... or at least come over to visit? creative foam
Our Style: Our style is cozy and comforting. Most everything in our home was a gift, thrift or trade...and took time to acquire. It's important to both of us that it feels warm and inviting...a home, rather than just a house.
Inspiration: We are both very visual people with an acute attention to detail...me being a photographer and Ethan with his background in film...so we have definitely put effort into a visual vibe that is calming, interesting and unique. There are many years of love put into all that we own. We have many different creative foam friends who are constantly adding to the environment...with art, cooking and odds and ends of inspiring momentums. Our friends creative foam and comfort are the inspiration in our lives and in our home.
Favorite Element: Preservation: The fact that they kept the cabin portion of the house (built in 1903) in tact and in perfect condition when moving it here (to prevent it from being torn down for new development creative foam in town) is awesome. The wooden door with horseshoe was the original door to the cabin but was used in the master bath as the closet door. We are pretty attached to the fact that we live tucked away in an orchard close to the ocean. I'd say this is our favorite element. The house could be any type or size and we'd be perfectly happy because of the location.
Biggest Challenge: Um...parenthood is the biggest challenge when decorating any space. We constantly have to be aware of creating an environment where our toddler (and soon to be born) can feel free...it's not appealing to be in any space where you have to constantly supervise and keeps paws and mitts off of everything! Hence all the beautiful woven baskets filled with Ohle's toys in each room of the house...best investment ever!
Proudest DIY: The best thing we did to this house was to bring a lot of light in by painting certain areas and ceilings bright white. The wood is super cozy, but can be very dark. We love that the floors are plywood! creative foam We never have to worry about scratching them, spills, or all the dirt our Australian Shepard creative foam drags in.
Biggest Indulgence: We splurge on cookware. I love to cook and Ethan loves to eat! Le Crueset and I have a certain understanding which no other cookware compares. I also can't say enough how amazing our Wedgewood Stove is...really.

I love it! The wood is incredible, and I dig the comfortable, cobbled-together vibe. We had a quirky cabin like this when I was a kid, and I credit that place for a lot of my oddball creative foam taste in design and decor.
Love the interior ceilings... might do something similar with my current remodel... feel free to take a look... midcenmod.com... Was it hard to get the sheetrock to meet the wood paneling and still have a tight seam? any type of sealant there?
great house tour! although I did ask myself if the photos were edited with a sort of "instagram-esque" sort of filter as there are a few where the tints look a bit unnatural, although absolutely dreamy.
Echoing what others have said...wow. This really does feel like a home that's full of love; the kind of place you'd want to raise a family. I love it!

Best friends (an original short story by Nancy Cudis) Reading: parental support is advised The world

Best friends (an original short story by Nancy Cudis) Reading: parental support is advised The world of Lorna, a storyteller from Cebu New Cebuano music My mother and her unusual breakfast time tales Cebu’s reading champs Advocating reading, writing, and good grammar Getting to know our National Artists for Literature Will the "tikbalang" be able to move on? The enchanting sights and sounds of the Talaandig tribe
For georgia pacific green bay our latest readings in Philippine literature, particularly old short stories by Filipino writers Mel U of The Reading georgia pacific green bay Life and I have decided to read together and invite others to join us, our featured author is Francisco Arcellana (Sept. 6, 1916-Aug. 1, 2002), who was honored as National Artist in Literature in the Philippines in 1990.
Arcellana’s complete name is Zacarias Eugene Francisco Quino Arcellana. He comes from a big family, being the fourth of 18 children. He himself georgia pacific green bay went on to have a big family with six children, georgia pacific green bay one of whom, Juaniyo, is also an essayist, poet, and fictionist. As a writer, Arcellana credited American authors Erskine Caldwell and Whit Burnett as his influences.
Understandably, a large brood is the cast in two of Arcellana’s short stories I have read--"The Mats” and “The Flowers of May”. And they are no separate set. It seems that The Mats is a sequel to The Flowers of May (and it is a fortunate thing I was able to read the latter first).
The Flowers of May (8 pages, 1951) is told from the perspective of Paking, one of the 14 children who tried to explain georgia pacific green bay to the grief caused by the death of a child (the dead Victoria) who lived long enough georgia pacific green bay to form an attachment georgia pacific green bay with her parents. For the record, I am not sure if Paking is a boy or a girl, but from the scenes georgia pacific green bay in the story, he could very well be a boy since the girls are “out in the rain”. georgia pacific green bay Sixteen-year old Victoria, a singing flower girl for nine years, is not the only one who died in the family. georgia pacific green bay “Victoria is Father’s first real, and as it turns out, only loss. Josefine who died before her died in early infancy and Concepcion who died after her was stillborn. Victoria died and we buried her and Father has not said her name once or even spoken of her.”
Paking is describing two types of regular scenes--one is what happens in the house every May and the second is what happens in the house everyday and makes a bit of comparison between prior to Victoria’s death and thereafter. He subtly makes a comparison as well as to how his parents separately cope with her demise--his mother trying to make things appear normal georgia pacific green bay and his father acting abnormally. In the end, the sight of flowers, especially lilies, brought by his sisters undid their father and makes him admit his grief.
In not so many words, Arcellana clearly describes how grief affects us all. In his story, the climax georgia pacific green bay is the end. “It is as terrible as the naked terror stark in Mother’s eyes and deep as the new knowledge georgia pacific green bay and first and final and only wisdom georgia pacific green bay that we have just now begun to share. So this is death. So this is what is means to die. And for the first time since she died and we buried her, we learn to accept the fact of Victoria’s death finally, we know at least that Victoria is dead--really and truly dead.”
The second story, The Mats (5 pages, 1938), sounds like a sequel to the first story because the same deceased children were mentioned; however the living children and the parents have different names. This one also sound like it happened many years later when the children are grown up and many of them are studying, georgia pacific green bay getting ready for university.
It tells, again in that lyrical prose-poetic form that Arcellana is so good at, about how Jaime, the father, brought home mats from one of his periodic inspection trips. Each one in the family georgia pacific green bay now has a mat with his/her name and birthstone on it. But there are three extra mats in the set--one for each of the deceased children, Josefina, Victoria, and Concepcion--which spark an argument between the parents, with the father demanding, “Do you think I’d forgotten? Do you think I had forgotten them? Do you think I could forget them? Is it fair to forget them? Would it be just to disregard them?”
You know, apart from the names of the dead children, that overwhelming feeling of grief of the father and that attitude of the mother to move on with life and make the best of everything from The Flowers of May is so consistent with The Mats I might have been reading one novella rather than two separate short stories. The mats, the three remaining ones, are literal representations of sorrow. On the bright side, they also represent strong filial relationships that is so characteristic of Filipino families. "The names which were with infinite slowness revealed, seemed strange georgia pacific green bay and stranger still; the colors not bright but deathly dull; the separate letters georgia pacific green bay spelling out the n

un poco de todo in this news round-up | following Real Madrid...
You know it’s a slow day when the major news story coming out of Wednesday was that José Mourinho spoke to Pedro León! Plus, Cristiano, mamá Higuaín, more Juan Carlos, Pepe, Sergio C. and even Drenthe!
One. According to the Spanish news outlets, Mou called Peter Lion by name (wow!) and then spoke six words to him (they were instructions). He also shouted words of encouragement. Other good news: Fernando Gago and Raúl Albiol trained normally, and will most likely propak systems be ready to be called up for the game against Málaga. The other unusual thing about the training session propak systems of yesterday was that they trained at the number 4 training ground, because their usual training ground was receiving treatment.
Three. Pipita’s propak systems mother Nancy Zacarías currently has an exhibition of her paintings going on at the Skimo gallery (C/Velázquez 111) in Madrid. The exposition is entitled “ Todo está como era entonces” (everything is like how it used to be). Nancy herself was there at the inauguration yesterday, accompanied by husband Jorge “El Pipa,” and their sons Federico, Nicolás and Lautaro – everyone except Gonzalo, who’s on national propak systems team duty in Japan, but who had sent his mother a text message congratulating her. The exposition propak systems will last until Oct. 29, and the paintings can be purchased – most of them are under 1,500.
Four. propak systems A look back at the past of my new favorite, Juan Carlos: his best friend is named José Luis, and they’ve been friends since they met at Madrid propak systems Oeste at the age of 6. According to José Luis’ parents Montse and José, every night Juan Carlos would come to their house play Play, and that “he’s the right arm of our son and our son is his left arm.” Four years ago, during Juan Carlos’ first year at Madrid, he came back to watch José Luis play. According to José: “he came to see José Luis and it happened then. My son broke his tibia and his fibula. Juan Carlos jumped up from the stands and ran onto the field, crying. He got there before the doctor. He didn’t propak systems leave my son’s side for an instant, he was his support. He’s exceptional.” On Sunday, the entire family was there at the Bernabéu, invited by Juan Carlos. José says, “when he was small, propak systems I always told him that he would play and triumph at Madrid. We’re very proud of him, he’s like a son to us.”
- asked if Raúl and Guti are missed, he says of course, since they were great captains and a reference, and also reveals that he follows their games, and is happy for Guti because things are going well for him.
Seven. Though he’s not playing with us this season, I can’t let this video of Royston propak systems Drenthe rapping go by. It appears he’s collaborating with The Nach, a rapper from Alicante (for those of you who have succeeded in forgetting about him, his new club Hércules is based in Alicante). But what was more interesting to me was that his girlfriend is pregnant again! This would be their third kid, if I remember correctly.
