I use the Omnipod. Ok.. here's the deal, The guy I am seeing and I are gonna take the step very soon. He knows all about me being diabetic and my pump and it hasn't been a problem thus far, but last time (i wear it under my breasts in the center) it started coming a little lose and I think he started being more gentle because he was afraid to dislodge it. I cant wear it on my stomach, or my arms, or legs. There are various reasons why.. so I'm wondering if I could take it off for like half an hour and then bolhs a correction with a new pod when we're done? Or any other suggestions?

That sounds like it would work, but wouldn't want to do that often. Those pods are expensive. Can you put it on your lower back? We have never had a problem brown butcher paper no matter where mine is. You could always tape it down with surgical tape also. Check you BS before and go from there Sent from my iPad using Diabetes
You should just be able to unhook your infusion set from the pod (like you do when you are going to take a shower). You can go one hour without your pump hooked up. That is what I was told by the CDE when I went through lessons on programming and use of my pump (I use the Animas Ping pump, but I think infusion sets are pretty much the same right?). I just disconnect my infusion set and set my pump aside until afterwards. It would be the same if you were to go swimming, showering, bathing, etc. Just disconnect and set aside. Up to one hour. That's what I was told. I would also look it up on your pumps website. I'm sure they cover that under support or faqs, questions, and answers.

Thanks, I was thinking I would go to the bathroom and check beforehand (Im not embarrassed, I just dont want to kill the mood.. he is one of those people who gets squeamish around blood) and then maybe bolus if needed and then take it off... or try my lowerback but the problem with that is I'm pretty thin right now and when I lay flat on my back the needle kinda dislodges, especially if sweat is involved. I may experiment with it this week though. To the second poster: Thanks brown butcher paper for your reply but the omnipod doesn't have tubing! I wear it in the showers, swimming and working out moderately although if it gets dislodged too much it stops working. That's one of the things I love so much about it though, the tubelessness. So I guess taking it off would be the same deal except I'd be losing valuable insulin, which I know is bad but if it's going to come dislodged anyway I may have to just suck it up (ha). I'll see what happens!
Ah, I didn't realize it didn't have tubing. I guess that would be a bit of a problem then. Have you tried more on your side? I'm just trying to think of areas of the body that wouldn't "be in the way" so to speak. What about the top of arm? Oh well, good luck finding that "sweet spot"
