I teach science at a school in Oslo. In this blog I put out good ideas and tips to diverse science education. I also evaluates some of the large supply of finished teaching curriculum.
Science Centre in Trondheim is a popular foam material science adventure center in the former premises of Norges Bank in Trondheim. It looks really exciting out. In addition to a fantastic center, they also have many online resources that we teachers can use. Browse many chemistry foam material experiments with procedure and explanation. I post some of them here:
Sparkling water (either m / soda or sparkling water)
Raisins foam material
2) Take three four raisins in water
3) Wait and see what happens
Answer: Coal acid in water containing dissolved CO 2 - gas. This gas will fill the uneven surface of the raisins. When enough gas has accumulated, this will cause the raisins will go to the top of the water (as small skydivers ..) where the gas is then released into the air when it reaches the surface. foam material When there is no more gas again (when the cherry has peaked) will raisins sink to the bottom of the glass, at which time they will begin to float to the top again and again ....
A drinking straw
Clay
2) Make a hole in the lid, but not more than that you get a straw into
3) Put the suction tube into the hole
Answer: When you drink from an open glass of water, the air pressure make it possible for the water to go up through the straw. foam material By sucking the straw, you will decrease the air pressure in your mouth. This means that the air pressure inside your mouth becomes less than the air pressure outside the straw (ie in the room and in the glass).
Generally pushes foam material the ordinary air press water, so the water can go up the tube, but when air pressure of the water is blocked (by putting a lid on the jar) there will not be any pressure that may help to press the water, so it goes up through the straw. And since air can not push on the water, it will not go up in the straw.
No matter how hard you try to soak up the water, you will not do this!
