Join the Fayetteville Public Library for a live taping of Ozarks-at-Large on Wednesday, June 11 at 6:00pm with host Kyle Kellams. Kellams interviews nationally acclaimed playwright Karen Zacarias about her newest work, Just Like Us , slated for its first public performance at TheatreSquared s 2014 Arkansas New Play Festival.
Based on Helen Thorpe s bestselling book, this new play follows four Latina girls whose immigration status begins to erode their opportunities. The audience will get to see a sneak preview selection from the play and Kyle will lead a conversation with Karen Zacarias, TheatreSquared s Artistic Director Bob Ford, and Tlaloc Rivas, director of Just Like Us , about the play and the craft of playwriting. Highlights from the show will be broadcast at a later date on KUAF. This program is made possible through FPL s author series and its partnership with TheatreSquared.
